A team of breast cancer survivors compete in last year's 2008 festival
This year marks the 16th annual Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival, and it will take place from June 19 to June 21 at Mooney's Bay Park. The festival is pleased to offer a Breast Cancer Survivor Challenge Cup category as well as a Flower Ceremony to commemorate those who have passed away over the past year.

*190 teams competing in various categories.
*All teams are guaranteed two 500m races on Saturday.
*The top 24 women’s teams on Saturday also advance for three additional races on Sunday (one 500m and two 200m).
*All BCS teams are also invited to participate in the Breast Cancer Survivor Challenge Cup Final Race on Sunday followed by the Flower Ceremony.
*Onsite live entertainment all weekend, including a beer garden.
*Hotel sponsor (Sheraton Ottawa) offering reduced rate to out of town teams.
*Tim Hortons coffee kiosk on site.
*Trophies and medals awarded to top teams in each category.
*Prize money will be awarded to the top three overall winning teams.
*Information package will be sent to all out of town teams including details about what to see and do in Ottawa during your visit.

These free classes were designed by physicians, nutrition experts and registered dietitians. Each class includes information about how certain foods and nutrients work to promote or discourage cancer growth, along with simple cooking demonstrations that can be easily recreated at home.
